WHERE you are shooting makes a difference on what you WEAR.
Some of my general tips:
If your background is dark, go with a lighter color.
If your background is busy, go with a solid.
If you are in doubt, wear neutrals of different textures and styles.
I tend to suggest the all cream look for clients.. layering brown tones in and textures like linen or silk to add variety.. and i LOVE that look. It’s timeless, season-less, and you won’t cringe when you look back in 10 years.
BUT I also love some color IF it’s done the right way. Muted colors + earth tones and even some red/yellow/blue combos for a nostalgic vibe.
NOTE: not all yellows are create equal. Not all PINKS are created equal. Not all blues, etc. Never go neon. But if you can’t find the “right” pink, it can throw off the whole look- so I think that’s why I get scared to give general style terms to my clients. Laying out looks in Canva, chatGPT, or using a third party styling tool like style and select can help my clients choose outfits that will compliment the photos, rather than look like a hodgepodge of mixed styles.
