Unrushed Family Sessions
The beauty of unrushed petite sessions is that you don't have to force a smile in 10 minutes. There's nothing worse than paying for a 15min slot only to have your kids have a meltdown because everyone is stressed and you want to look perfect for the photo. I feel uneasy watching parents threaten their kids or punishing them when they don't fake a smile for the camera.
The Flow of the Session
I aim to capture real moments prompted by direction or cues, so you're not completely lost in front of the camera. Incorporating play and parent involvement helps create genuine smiles and the feeling of love within the family. Kids may not trust a stranger, but they trust YOU. I much rather have a mom caring for her child when he's upset, or a dad willing to fly a kid like an airplane to show he cares, or a family looking into the eyes of one another like their whole world is summed up in that one viewpoint.
What If I Don't Know What To Do In Front of The Camera?
Prompts will be given and yes, i'll let you know if I see a double chin. If i'm saying "perfect", it's because you guys really do look perfect. I'll bring a blanket and anything else we need. You just show up and bring a snack if needed.
What do We wear?
Style Guides will be sent with earthy, warm color palates that invite your family to become part of a romantic art piece that is frame worthy. It looks like you fell into a painting. It's only a few hours from Charlotte, and you can make a day trip or book a cute air bnb for a weekend getaway. There's also fun things to do nearby like gem mining or shop in the cute downtown area.
