Summer can feel like chaos when you’re used to the structure of school routines. If you’re a mama like me—running a creative business while managing a house full of kids—you know how easy it is to let the days blur together. One minute you’re scrolling your phone, the next you’re scrubbing grout for three hours instead of working on that big idea you’ve been dreaming about.
In this post, I’m sharing exactly how I’ve been using ChatGPT to help me organize my summer—from business tasks to housework to meal planning. Spoiler: it’s been a total game-changer.
Why I Needed Help
When school is in session, I have more structure. But in the summer, if I don’t have a plan, I spiral into decision fatigue and distraction. I end up doing something, but not the right things. I needed help organizing my:
• Photography business tasks
• Cleaning routine
• Meals
• Mental load
So I turned to my favorite AI assistant and typed:
“Help!”
Step 1: Create a Daily Business Workflow with ChatGPT
Here’s the exact prompt I gave ChatGPT:
“I am a newborn and family photographer. Tasks I typically do throughout the week, aside from shooting, are editing photos, packaging client boxes, ordering supplies, posting reels, stories, and feed posts, connecting with my audience, recording and marketing my podcast, creating freebies, recording content, and sending newsletters. I also want to work on a mini course. If I have 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, how would you structure my time?”
It came back with a fully structured weekly plan. Here’s the summary:
Monday: Marketing + Content Creation
• Plan & record reels
• Post to feed + stories
• Engage in DMs
• Write and schedule newsletter
• Mini course planning
Tuesday: Podcast + Freebie Day
• Record/edit podcast
• Market podcast
• Work on a freebie
• Instagram engagement
• Edit client galleries
Wednesday: Client Experience
• Photo editing
• Package client boxes
• Post reels or carousels
• DM past/future clients
• Mini course lesson recording
Thursday: Creative Content & Community
• Record B-roll or BTS content
• Edit reels/snippets
• Send thank-you notes
• Edit photos
• Plan next week’s IG posts
Friday: Admin + Strategy
• Photo editing
• Emails, finances, backups
• Course creation
• Recap week + plan ahead
• Story/feed posting
I copied this straight into Notion to build a visual checklist for each day. Now when I wake up at 5:30 AM, coffee in hand, I know exactly what to work on before the house wakes up. This clarity sets the tone for a more confident and focused day.

Step 2: Build a Realistic Cleaning Schedule
Once I saw how helpful ChatGPT was for business planning, I figured—why not try it for housework too?
Here’s what I asked:
“I have a 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom home with a living room, loft, bonus room, small office, and a home gym. I have 45 minutes each morning to clean. Create an effective and efficient 7-day schedule.”
It gave me a great starting point… but I quickly realized ChatGPT thinks I’m a superhero. 😂 Some tasks were wildly ambitious for 10–15 minute time slots.
Daily Tasks (every morning)
• Make all beds
• Quick tidy of living room
• Start a load of laundry
• Wipe counters and do dishes
• Take out the trash
(Reality check: Just making my kids’ beds could be a 15-minute feat.)
Deep-Clean Focus Areas (30–35 mins/day)
• Monday: Bathrooms
Toilets, showers, mirrors, counters… this took me three hours. Lesson learned: pace yourself or delegate!
• Tuesday: Bedrooms
Dust, vacuum, change bedding. I now rotate which room gets deep cleaned, and have my kids clean their own.
• Wednesday: Living Room & Loft
Dust, vacuum, clean windows. I delegate windows to my kids and let the robot vacuum help.
• Thursday: Kitchen
Stove, oven, microwave, fridge, mop floors. Pro tip: Watch a YouTube cleaning video first—it’s weirdly motivating.
• Friday: Bonus Room + Office
Lego avalanche central. I had my son organize his Marvel builds while I tackled the chaos.
• Saturday: Gym + Entryway
Wipe down equipment, clean laundry area, sanitize handles. (I skipped this week. It happens.)
• Sunday: Catch-Up Day
Vacuum/mop whole house, dust, deep organize if time permits. Aka: grace day.
⸻
Step 3: Use ChatGPT for Meal Planning
Did you know you can meal plan with ChatGPT too?
You can ask things like:
• “I have these ingredients… what can I make?”
• “Make a gluten-free, kid-friendly, high-protein meal plan with grocery list for 5 days.”
• “Create a meal prep plan based on 1600 calories/day with 140g protein.”
Seriously, this tool has become my secret weapon for not just running my business, but running my home more peacefully and efficiently.

• I start my days with clarity
